Duplo Castle

Duplo Castle Line

Arguably the coolest of all Duplo sets ever made included the Duplo Castle Line. It included large castles, knights, dragons and weapons. This allows children to build huge castles or towers for their knights to do battle in carry on the daily activities of the mythical knight.
As part of the development, Matt Corrall created a new knight character for the set from a range of early sketch concepts, as well as artwork for new printed Lego elements. Other work included prototype building and consumer testing.
Lego Duplo Black Castle was launched in 2006.

4777-1: Knight's Castle

This is a must for any kid with an interest in Castles or has a parent with an interest in castles. One set allow for the simple castle front you see above. Multiple sets allow for larger or enclosed castles without resorting to using rainbow colored walls from regular bricks. The instructions have an example of an enclosed and quite visually appealing castle which you can build if you are lucky enough to have one of each castle set.

4779-1: Defense Tower

A castle seems impenetrable, until you introduce he proper siege weapons! Show your kids that hard work and ingenuity can overcome any obstacle and that there are no safe hiding places.

Castle 4864

This is a nice set, which is still available from many of the Duplo hoarders. The large tower pieces create more "realistic" looking fantasy castles. And the firing cannon can be a load of fun for toddlers.
Black Castle 4785

This set is now exceedingly expensive, but as you can see, it comes with enough parts to build a pretty nice castle and wage ware with less fortunate Lego Minifig or the green dragon. Less violent play in the theme of Jane and the Dragon are also possible.
Dragons:
Dragons are just cool. They can be feared creatures, friends or mounted attack vehicles.
